Dr. SALAH A ZUGAIL

Dr. Salah Zugail has a BSc from King Fahd for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), MSc from the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) and PhD from Leeds University, in mining Engineering. Both, his MSc and PhD theses, were dedicated to solving industry related problems related to rock breakage and innovative rock stabilization projects. Dr. Zugail holds 30 years of academic and industrial experience. During his tenure at KFUPM and later in the University of Ha’il, he held several leading academic and administrative posts amongst which; Dean of the College of Sciences, Dean of the College of Computer Sciences & Engineering and the Dean of Faculty & Personnel. He, also, chaired several key committees, namely the Bids and Tender Committee, the Student Affairs Committee, the HR Committee and the Planning Committee. While at university, he served, as a leader and team member, for several multimillion Saudi Riyals projects, amongst which were the IT computing & communication infrastructure project, the ERP university Portal project, the new campus infrastructure and the college buildings construction projects. In January, 2010, he retired and joined the private sector where he was responsible for planning, managing and supervision of several multimillion projects in the Holy City of Makkah amongst which, Jabal Omar rock excavation and blasting for JODP and Al Tayseer and Hedaya Plaza for Naseel Holding. Dr Zugail, also, owns and manages an engineering consulting office under his name. He is a cofounder and the CEO of Rakizah Mining Co.
